Submission guidelines for non-fiction

Non-fiction submissions are always open

Here's the deal. Noir Originals is not a paying market.

If that hasn't got rid of everybody, then please read on.

What we're looking for (it's simple):
anything factual on noir fiction or noir authors

What we're not looking for (it's also simple):
anything that isn't noir fiction (novelists, please check the Submission Guidelines For Novelists below)

For the purpose of the above guidelines, noir is defined as "if you think it's noir, it probably is."

All we ask is one-time publishing rights and your agreement not to publish your work elsewhere until at least 30 days after we publish it. And the really good news is that we accept reprints.

In the first instance, email Allan Guthrie with a very short proposal. Enthusiasm and writing ability are important. Credentials are not.

Submission Guidelines For Novelists

Noir Originals is always looking for opening extracts from outstanding new original noir novels, published or otherwise, for which you hold the copyright. Please send the opening chapter (two at most) of your novel within the body of an email. Attachments will not be read.

If you haven't received a reply within three months, sorry, your story hasn't made the cut. Successful authors will be asked to provide a review/article/essay, etc., to accompany the novel extract.

Many thanks for thinking of Noir Originals.
